CONGRATULATIONS!!!
TO THE NEW
MRS OREGON AMERICA
JOY HUSTON
November 1, 2009 was the Mrs Oregon America 2010 Pageant and Joy came out victorious. All 7 Contestants graced the stage with beauty, confidence, and poise. I am so proud of all the ladies in achieving personal goals, growth, and building lifelong friendships! Thank you for everything that you do and the support you offer the pageant and myself!

1st Runner Up was Macy Bishop

Mrs Photogenic was Lisa Larson

Mrs Congeniality was Amy Pluedeman

Crowning Spirit Award was Macy Bishop

Director's Award was Amy Pludeman

People's Choice was Macy Bishop

I truly was an outstanding event. Thank you to all the formers that volunteer their time thoughout the year and at the event! You are so appreciated (see picture, and yes that is Mrs Oregon's Baby).

Patricia Nuttbrock, Debra Gilmore, Taryn Statsny, Joelle Goodwin, Kim Takla and Lisa Marie Menken! I appreciate your continued support!

To the formers that were in attendance, Sandra Herder and Kym Wylder. I am sorry that your feelings were hurt that you were not announced on stage. When putting on a production you do not always see who is out there, I cannot see because I am on head set back stage. Not everyone that says they are coming to the show actually show up so we put in a generic plug for those that might be out there and time to stand from the audience but somehow that wasn't heard and feelings were hurt. We will try to do better for next year so you can be recognized.

To Melody Virding, Michelle McElligott, Marcia Menche, and Judy Brown....thank you cannot express the dedication you give to our program each year! I couldn't do it without you!!!!!!!!

To CHET!!! Thank you for always having my back!

To the judges, this is a hard job to undertake. Thank you for your dedication to doing the best job!

I am so blessed to have been placed in this position. Each time I try to pass the role on to other's God keeps giving it back to me. There must be something more I must do with this program. I will always take my lead from him. I look forward to the lessons I will learn and the ladies that will continue to support, compete, and help this program grow.

Attitude is EVERYTHING!

As many of you get ready for the Mrs Oregon Pageant...keep in mind this...your attitude will determine your experience and outcome.

The BE Attitudes of Pageantry:

BE yourself. There is no other like YOU.

BE confident in your opinions. You shouldn't change for anyone.

BE humble. Know that this honor is a gift and not a right.

BE grateful. Win or lose be grateful that you have had this experience and embrace the good.

BE supportive. Only one lady will win, how would you like to be treated if it was you?

Most of all have fun!!!

Nine Contestants and Counting!!!!

This year has begun with Nine WONDERFUL AMAZING MRS contestants! I feel very blessed. Mrs West Linn, Mrs Clackamas Co., Mrs Beaverton, Mrs Washington Co., Mrs Rose City, Mrs Mt Hood, Mrs Oregon City, Mrs Lane Co., and Mrs Yamhill Co. Look for their pictures and candids to be posted in August at http://www.mrsoregon.net/!

What is the most amazing aspect of this year's group of ladies is the ALREADY countless hours of appearances and community service done selflessly!

So....if you ever thought a pageant was shallow, think again! These ladies are all about what they can do for others while taking care of their husbands and family!

Blessings and thanks!!!

CONGRATULATIONS, to SANDRA HERDER! She won the Mrs Oregon International Pageant on March 28th, 2009. Sandra is a client of Be Prepared Pageant Coaching by Libby Crawford. She is also a former Mrs Oregon America 1998. Much success to Sandra as she prepares for the National Pageant this summer.

2010 MRS OREGON PAGEANT

NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2010 MRS OREGON PAGEANT. Yes, many of you knew that I retired. I know, I know....; ) Well, I am back in the pageant game as the Director of the Mrs Oregon Pageant. The new director had some personal issues that prevented her with going forward. I have built this program since my successor brought it back to Oregon in 1999 and do not wish to drop it without handing it over to a willing and able partner. This program is full of many positives and I so love the national directors David and Elaine Marmel as well as the directors from across the nation that work tirelessly for the good of all contestants, sponsors, and titleholders! SO...I am back and am so excited to announce that we will be BACK at the NEW STAGE THEATER in Tigard!!! What a joy! The pageant is in November (we are working on the 1st of Nov as our target date). Again it will be a one day pageant with a party and some rehearsal time on Saturday, the day before! For more information please go to http://www.mrsoregon.net/! Again, if you can Dream it you and Do IT!

Congratulations to the New Mrs Oregon 2009, Joelle Rankins-Goodwin. Joelle competed as Mrs Eugene and has been a part of the Mrs Oregon family since her first competition in 2007. Joelle was 1st runner up to Kimberly Takla and 1st runner up to Taryn Stastny. This year Joelle herself was crowned Mrs Oregon. Joelle is a Major in the Army and plans on making the most of her year. We are sure proud of Joelle and cannot wait to see what this year has in store for her and her family.
